►►FULL BIO – As the senior resident DJ of Grounded Theory, one of its founders, curator of its celebrated agency and events, and a DJ of worldwide renown for ability and tastes, Henning Baer forged his enviable résumé with his own hands.

Since its beginning in 2009, Grounded Theory has grown from a bracing new idea in Berlin techno to an institution of artistic nightlife both at its home and around the continent. Directed with acute vision and unerring judgment, its philosophy extracted from Henning’s long years at the front lines of electronic music, it remains diverse and cutting edge. Mirroring Henning Baer’s DJ sets, Grounded Theory combines music from different eras and areas, remaining rooted in techno while shedding light on sounds less frequently heard on Berlin dance floors: forward UK music, experimental electronics, and underground techno names from across the globe, both new and established.

Following on years of closely-synchronized work with fellow resident Milton Bradley, Henning Baer is now asserting greater independence with innovative new production styles on a recent EP for Taanstaafl Planets. The launch of his own MANHIGH imprint buttresses the foundation of his own work, to be built up alongside a select few whose productions meet the curatorial acumen of one of techno’s finest ears. After esteemed releases on Sonic Groove, K209 and elsewhere, fans worldwide have much to look forward to from a label whose standards match those of Grounded Theory.

Already a respected artist, Henning’s diligence has transported him from the counter to the shelves of Hardwax and from the floor to the booth of Berghain in regular appearances. Now he is building further upon these impressive accomplishments, profoundly shaping contemporary techno from recent memory into the foreseeable future.

►►NEWS “Fighting The Dogs” is a six-track EP on Baer’s in March Launched imprint Manhigh, exploring elements of industrial, acid and deep techno through Baer’s gritty yet functional approach to his productions. The release also includes a remix from British underground favorite Blawan.

►CHRIS WOLTER hailing from Hanse city Rostock, with a very active scene, as we all have experienced these past years. At least 5 guests from the Rostock area come over to Saigon. Chris is already more than 7 years part of the Vietnamese culture and of course founding father (Papa) of Heart Beat. Releasing his signature sound on Heart Beat’s imprint with his latest techno release of Chanhy by night and “Scorpion” following “Bubi”. Made his debut in 2004 as DJ and in 2008 his first set in Vietnam during the Hanoi Soundstuff Festival. Now also performing and releasing under his Alias Phuc Long on HRBR a new imprint with BAX as head honcho.
►VISUALS: EROL – no light show will be needed, standing all night besides the DJ’s this one man live show called Erol produces the visuals that will entangle with the sonic typhoon the artist create and release. It is the Lightning going with the storm, the techno Viking god in person and hard NOT to get hypnotized by his creations.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬Intro Heart Beat This is the 18th installment of Heart Beat. “ Also known as the Techno crew of Saigon, enriching the scene with their selection of “ nderground Body Music”, in doing so as a promoter, sound system, premature community and nascent record label. Heart Beat brings foremost the techno culture to Saigon’s nightlife by regularly hosting nights. Here you can hear international renowned and local talent play classic & grooving minimal techno. There is a range and left and right of the spectrum you can also expect other styles, from deep and dub techno to minimal trance and micro and tech house. They just call it “underground body music”

Từ lúc khởi đầu vào năm 2009, Grounded Theory từ vị trí một người nung nấu ý tưởng mới cho techno Berlin đã trở thành một điểm dừng chân của đời sống nghệ thuật về đêm không chỉ với riêng Berlin mà còn với khắp Âu lục. Được dìu dắt bằng một tầm nhìn thấu đáo và quyết định sáng suốt, triết lý của GT xuất phát từ những năm tháng Henning dành trọn nơi tiền tuyến nhạc điện tử, luôn đa dạng và tiên phong. Phản ánh các set DJ của Henning Baer, GT kết hợp âm nhạc từ các thời kỳ và địa phương, bám chặt vào gốc rễ techno để vươn tới các âm thanh hãy còn ít được nghe tới ở sàn nhảy Berlin: nhạc Anh, nhạc điện tử thể nghiệm, các tên tuổi underground techno vòng quanh thế giới, mới và đã thành danh.
Sau nhiều năm hợp tác chặt chẽ với Milton Bradley, Henning Baer giờ đây đang chủ động hơn trong các sáng tạo mới trong phong cách như EP mới đây cho Taanstaafl Planets. Sự ra đời của MANHIGH, dấu ấn sáng tạo của HB, củng cố hơn nữa nền tảng sáng tác của anh dựa trên những ít ỏi chắt lọc lại từ một trong những đôi tai thạo nhất của techno. Sau các ấn phẩm danh tiếng ở Sonic Groove, K209 và đây đó, khán giả hâm mộ hãy còn rất nhiều để chờ đợi từ hãng thu âm có tiêu chuẩn sánh ngang với GT
Là một nghệ sĩ được kính trọng, sự cần cù của Henning đã mang anh ra khỏi bàn mix đến giá đĩa của Hardwas danh giá, từ sàn diễn cho đến Bergahin thường xuyên và đều đặn. Giờ đây anh đang xây dựng nhiều hơn nữa từ các thành tựu đáng gờm có được, hình thành một âm thanh techno đương đại còn chưa quá vãng để tiến thẳng vào một tương lai sáng láng

Bao gồm một loạt các DJ quốc tế từ Đức, Anh, Y, Pháp và Việt Nam, Heart Beat Saigon chơi nhiều thể loại âm nhạc, từ âm nhạc tối giản phong cách Detroit cho đến nhạc techhouse sôi động đầy năng lượng từ Châu Âu. Dù chơi bất cứ thể loại nào thì điểm nhấn mạnh vẫn luôn là sự đam mê, sáng tạo để mang những âm thanh “underground body music” đến những sàn nhảy Sài Gòn.
Với mong muốn phát triển dòng nhạc underground techno ở Sài Gòn, Heart Beat Saigon cố gắng duy trì một lịch hoạt động liên tục, thường xuyên giới thiệu các DJ quốc tế đang đi diễn tại Châu Á, cùng với các DJ ở trong nước tại các địa điểm có chất lượng tốt ở Sài Gòn.
