► FULL BIO Amelie Lens Truly one of the most exciting export products Belgium has to offer these days –
Amelie Lens is taking the scene by storm ever since releasing her solid debut EP on the Italian Lyase Recordings.
The title track Exhale quickly began living it’s own life as a very recognisable and uptempo floorfiller. Lens’ mesmerising whisper driven by buoyant percussion and a heart-throbbing bass is a gimmick that grows on you fast but delicately before it leaves you craving for more.
A collective sign of approval came from Berlin based power duo Pan-Pot who reached out to Amelie and asked her to get involved with Second State, Tassilo and Thomas’ own imprint. The label is what you might call a real family endeavour. Although not bound by blood, their artists share a strong ‘next of kin’-like love and appreciation for each others work.
A happy home to grow up in and a promising platform for Lens to release her music on for many years to come.
As a DJ, Amelie has had a lot of exposure this year which earned her the
amazing opportunity to curate her own nights at Labyrinth club in Hasselt. She shares the line-up with big industry names while giving local talent a platform to get discovered.
The name ‘Exhale’ – taken from her Lyase EP earlier this year – acts as a brand name for quality club nights that will produce and capture the beauty of form and harmony found in techno music.

▬▬▬▬THE STARTERS, SIDE DISHES AND DESSERTS▬▬▬
►Farrago surfaces as a new name on the Belgian techno scene albeit with a familiar face. In 2013 Sam Deliaert formerly known as Talbot Wood was picked up by compatriots Jorn and Tom – from Other Heights and Curle Recordings respectively – under whom he played multiple showcases and live shows across Europe throughout ’13 & ’14.
The name change is motivated by the meaning of the word itself. Farrago, literally ‘a perplexing mixture’, is the alignment and legacy of his earlier work merged with new ideas and recent development.
Arpeggiated melodies reverberating endlessly to the point where they are deemed tangible driven by the resonanting sound of a classic 4/4 kickdrum. It’s the perfect marriage between body and soul.
For now, preparing a live performance built around the Octatrack – the beating heart of the setup – is his main priority. Meanwhile though, some of the more captivating patterns and synthesis from his other Elektron unit, the Analog Four, have already found their way through a recording device. This preceded a connection with ARTS, a young but already quite established Berlin based techno label, home to the likes of Dax J, Keith Carnal, Inigo Kennedy, Shlømo and il capitano: Emmanuel.

►CHRIS WOLTER hailing from Hanse city Rostock, with a very active scene, as we all have experienced these past years. At least 5 guests from the Rostock area come over to Saigon. Chris is already more than 7 years part of the Vietnamese culture and of course founding father (Papa) of Heart Beat. Releasing his signature sound on Heart Beat’s imprint with his latest techno release of Chanhy by night and “Scorpion” following “Bubi”. Made his debut in 2004 as DJ and in 2008 his first set in Vietnam during the Hanoi Soundstuff Festival. Now also performing and releasing under his Alias Phuc Long on HRBR a new imprint with BAX as head honcho.
►VISUALS by EROL – no light show will be needed, standing all night besides the DJ’s this one man live show called Erol produces the visuals that will entangle with the sonic typhoon the artist create and release. It is the Lightning going with the storm, the techno Viking god in person and hard NOT to get hypnotized by his creations.

Heart Beat brings foremost the techno culture to Saigon’s nightlife by regularly hosting nights. Here you can hear international renowned and local talent play classic & grooving minimal techno. Một trong những xuất khẩu âm nhạc thú vị Nhật của nước Bỉ trong thời gian qua – Amelie Lens đang chinh phục scene ngay từ EP đầu tay ở hãng Lyase Recordings (Ý)
Track Exhale cùng tên với EP nhanh chóng trở thành một bài hit cực dễ nhận ra và một bản hút chặt khán giả xuống sàn nhảy với nhịp điệu sôi động. Tiếng thì thầm quyến rũ của Lens trên nền bô gõ tươi tắn và line bass chộn tin là một thủ thuật vừa cuốn lấy ta nhanh chóng, nhưng cũng tinh tế, trước khi khiến chúng ta phải đòi hỏi thêm.
Khi bộ đôi Pan-Pot ở Berlin tìm đến và mời Amelie tham gia Second State, hãng đĩa của Tassilo & Thomas, đó là dấu hiệu Amelie đã “nhập gia”. Second State là một gia đình đích thực, dù không bởi máu mủ, nhưng ở đó các nghệ sĩ chia sẻ tình cảm và trân trọng tác phẩm của nhau. Đây chính là một nơi để trưởng thành và là một nền tảng vững chãi để Lens cho ra đời các sáng tác những năm tiếp theo.

► Farrago lộ diện là một tên tuổi mới của techno Bỉ dù đã là một gương mặt quen thuộc. Năm 2013 Sam Delieart, nghệ danh cũ là Talbot Wood, được Jorn và Tom lần lượt từ Other Heights và Curle Recordings chọn lựa, và dưới sự dìu dắt này anh đã trình diễn rất nhiều lần khắ Châu Âu trong 2 năm 2013 và 2014.
Sự thay đổi trong nghệ danh có mục đích đàng sau, bởi chính ý nghĩa của từ Farrago, nghĩa đen là một hỗn hợp tuyệt vời, chính là sự nối liền của gia tài sáng tác trước đây của anh với những ý tưởng mới.
Chuỗi giai điệu trầm bổng vang không ngừng trong tác phẩm đến độ ta có thể sờ nắn được, trên nền trống kinh điển 4/4, đó chính là cuộc hôn phối hoàn hảo của thể xác và tâm hồn.
Hiện tại, chuẩn bị cho đêm diễn xoay quanh Octatrack chính là trọng tâm của anh hiện nay. CHRIS WOLTER: [Đức] đến từ Rostock, thành phố vùng Hanse, nơi có một bối cảnh âm nhạc luôn chuyển động, như những gì anh đã cho thấy suốt 2 năm qua. Ít nhất đã có 5 vị khách đến Việt Nam từ Rostock xa xôi. Chris, anh đã sống 7 năm trong văn hóa Việt Nam và dĩ nhiên không ai khác chính là người sáng lập (bố chưa già) của Heart Beat. Ta sẽ thưởng thức âm thanh đặc trưng nhất, mang đậm dấu ấn của anh với quả bom techno Scorpion, Bubi. Trở thành DJ cách đây đúng 10 năm, và 2008 với màn ra mắt Việt Nam tại festival điện tử nổi tiếng Hanoi Soundstuff.

Heart Beat giới thiệu văn hóa techno vào đời sống ban đêm của Saigon bằng những đêm định kỳ biểu diễn, nơi ta có thể tìm thấy những tên tuổi quốc tế song song với các tài năng trong nước biểu diễn những bản techno kinh điển và mê hoặc.
